Need to quickly find out how to long to keep a document? Use the Search Wizard to see only what you need.
For Viewers, this is the default view for all Viewers.
For other roles (e.g. Admin, Editor, Reviewer), from the main Retention Schedule, use the button on the top left to navigate to the Search Wizard.
How to Search: Describe your record
Type any keywords to describe your record. Search results containing your keywords will appear below. Check the rightmost column, "Retention Period", to determine how long to retain or when to dispose your document.
What is being searched?
Any Series, Types, or Examples containing your keyword will appear in the search results. A total count of Series searched will appear when the search engine's run is complete.
Narrow Your Search
Tap on "Unsure? Narrow down your search" to open a Function filter. Select your function(s) to further narrow down your results.
Go to the Full Retention Schedule
Need the full schedule? If you'd like to see the Retention Schedule in more detail, including print, share, or export, exit the Search Wizard by using the "Full Schedule" button at the top left, under the main navigation bar but above the Search Wizard.
To return to the Search Wizard at any time, use the "Search Wizard" button in the same place, top left above the main Retention Schedule.
